4x10: Revelations
For the first time since I got into Battlestar Galactica, around Christmastime, I am speechless.

As in, this episode left me UTTERLY ... FUCKING ... SPEECHLESS.

I didn't liveblog. I intended to but just never got started.

And now I am honest-to-goodness speechless.

HOLY. SHIT.

I will now ask the question that I think must be on the minds of every BSG fan tonight.

Now what?

I'm feeling: shocked

I don't think the whole planet is radioactive. (Or, at least, that's what I'm believing now.) For example, Chernobyl caused radioactivity, but not all of the surrounding eastern European countries are radioactive because of that.

That was actually one of the first things I said to my boyfriend after the episode (once I could, you know, speak coherently). I REALLY want to believe that where they landed is somewhere in/around the New York City area, just because of the city in the distance and the general geographic layout. Andrew and I were actually actively looking for the Statue of Liberty, although logically speaking it's quite conceivable that it was destroyed in whatever nuclear event laid the city to waste.

The other thing too is that the crew and Cylons were clearly able to stand on the surface without the use of radiation suits (although, as Andrew pointed out, it seems like they have some pretty heavy-duty antiradiation medications in their universe, judging by the amount of time Helo was able to spend on Caprica without seeming to suffer any ill effects). It's possible there may be several grounds zero, but that the rest of the Earth may still be habitable. We can only hope!

Whoa, that's freaky (but in a good way) because I thought that too! In that, I was thinking they were around New York City because of the city on the island in the background.

That makes sense about the radiation. I knew the thing they were using to test for radioactivity (I don't know the name it, though) meant that there was radioactivity, but I didn't know if that meant how much was there. Andrew's right: they do have some heavy-duty anti-radiation meds like in the Helo example. I guess the radiation can't be that bad there where they were, or else they would have gotten sick instantly, right? Then again, who would have thought to take anti-radiation meds with them before they went down to the surface of Earth of all places?

I'm hoping that it's still habitable. That's what I'm going with, at least.

Just finished watching.

I'm officially shellshocked.

I. CAN'T. WAIT. FOR. THE. REST. OF. THE. SEASON.

For real, it keeps coming back to that 'all of this has happened before' thing. Like possibly what happened on Earth mirrors what happened to the 12 colonies. And maybe that's where God enters into it. Perhaps it was an inevitability, and when the cylons wiped out nearly the entirety of the human race it was preordained, and happened as it had happened on Earth thousands/millions of years earlier? Just a theory, of course.

BSG is, hands down, one of the best shows to ever grace the small screen. Just when you think you have something figured out, they throw another unexpected twist in there. The last half of the season is probably going to be the biggest mindfuck ever.

Ooh! Ooh! I know what happens next.

. . .And of course by that I mean I have no idea, LOL!

Apparently Eddie Belfour doesn't like Chris Chelios (just a random comment b/c I'm listening to when he called into a Detroit radio station, so I figured I'd share :-D).
