Author names have been revealed for this year at jedi_mistletoe, so I've taken the liberty of posting the fic I wrote for that exchange to my writing community. I also realized that I'd neglected to repost my 2007 story, so that's up there as well. :)

As I say in the Author's Notes, I was amazed by how much I still like "The Jedi's Code," even after a full year - and believe me, that is a rare, rare thing. I can barely even stand to acknowledge the existence of most of my old stuff, and even in To Ignite the Stars and The Sound of One Hand Clapping (which I consider to be my two best works since I started writing fanfiction again), I can see numerous weak spots and areas where the writing and plot are muddy as hell. I'm my own worst critic, honestly, and sometimes I wish my inner editor would take a long walk off a short pier. Heh. ;)

I've been eagerly following the Secret Santa postings over at adama_roslin and all of them are awesome, but one in particular stands out: A Bridge to the Stars, by katamaran78. This fic has it all - romance, a believable foray into AUness, spot-on characterizations, smut, top-notch writing and a happy ending (and is not totally free of angst, either!). Basically, my aim with this fic was first to write a straightforward Kara and Sam getting back together and frakking each other's brains out PWP, but it somehow devolved into exploring how Kara might have reacted, off-screen, to the news that her husband is a Cylon. With some of that P (as in Porn) thrown in for good measure. Think of it as a sort of "missing scene" starting when Sam meets up with her in the memorial hall. I'm not entirely pleased with this fic, and I don't think it represents my best work, but at some point you have to stop fiddling around and rearranging words and switching paragraphs around. Applied to my fanfic50 claim because I'm lazy like that.
